Bethesda Announces The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Worldwide Launch on November 11, 2011

On Monday Bethseda Softworks confirmed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the higly anticipated sequel to the well-received Elder Scrolls series, developed by Bethseda Game Studios. Game director Todd Howard was quoted in a written statement saying the game will certainly be worth the wait:

It?s exciting finally to announce the game. We?ve been working for many years on Skyrim and the technology behind it. A new Elder Scrolls game has been a long time coming, and we can?t wait to show it off.

Bethesda has practically revealed no details about the game beyond noting that Skyrim will launch worldwide on November 11 of next year on the Playstation 3, Xbox360, and PC.

The official site hosted only a teaser trailer at press time as Bethesda obviously plans to release more information in due time.

The ZeniMax Media-owned company did say, however, that gamers eager to learn more about this sequel should turn to the February issue of the Game Informer magazine that will feature the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as an exclusive cover story.
