PICTURE: Crysis 2 DirectX 11 Patch Comes Next Week, Looks Amazing

Electronic Arts announced details inside Crysis 2 Patch 1.9, which brings DirectX 11 visual fidelity and numerous fixes. But a slight mistake slipped the image of just how amazing Crysis 2 will look. NeoGaf Forum user Vampire Hunter caught the website showing just how visual fidelity will jump with the introduction of the DirectX 11 to the game. Forum user BeeDog caught the screenshot, since soon after, the page went down.

As you can see for yourself, Crysis 2 will now look absolutely stunning, and best of all, the patch is free for download, coming just in time for the long Independence Day weekend.

Here’s the list of all the changes and do note that Crysis 2 again supports the "unsupported AMD HD3D stereoscopic displays" mode, i.e. enabling HD3D once more:

  • Fixed issue with MP time played statistic, which would sometimes be too low on leaderboards and in stats
  • Fixed issue with JAW rocket not firing through window’s containing broken glass
  • Fixed rare issue where a user could not access MP with a valid CD key if they had previously used an invalid CD key
