Gigabyte Announces North American Battlefield 3 Tournament

Now that Battlefield 3 is finally a more mature game, there are more and more Battlefield 3 tournaments beginning to sprout up. Gigabyte, in partnership with AMD, has begun a series of tournaments for Battlefield 3 starting in North America. The tournament will be based on a mix of classic and B2K (Back to Karkand) maps.

Knowing Gigabyte, this will not be the last tournament, as Gigabyte tends to do global competitions and will likely spread to Europe and Asia. The first round, though, is in North America. The prizes for winning are valued at approximately $12,000 and will be granted in 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

Each team will consist of eight members and if you read the rules, you’ve also have to legally own the game and list up to 10 people on your roster in the event that you’ll need a backup.

Taking a look at the prizes, we’ve got some really sweet graphics cards including some yet-to-be announced graphics cards!
