Samsung Galaxy S5 Teaser on YouTube

As many of you may have already suspected, Samsung is launching something next week in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2014. That something has been rumored to be none other than Samsung’s Galaxy S5, the successor to the uniquely named Galaxy S4. With the S4, a lot of people were left pretty unimpressed when compared to other competitors’ phones and even against the Galaxy S3. Sure, the S4 was undoubtedly an improvement on the Galaxy S3, but side by side the two phones didn’t look or feel any different. I expect that next week when we’re in Barcelona to cover Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 that we will see a more premium-looking Galaxy S5, perhaps not aluminum, but it will likely have a less-cheap feel.

There have already been countless rumors about the screen resolution and the fingerprint sensor, but the truth is that most of these rumors seem pretty reasonable and most people already have a pretty good idea of what to expect. However, Samsung’s video does not give any hints as to what we can actually expect the device to do or any details of that sort. Until the phone officially launches next week, I don’t think we’ll see anything other than generic marketing trying to promote the fun and future of the brand.

We’ll be bringing you coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S5 event from Barcelona as well as many other announcements and interesting new technologies as well. Feel free to leave us any comments about what you think the new Galaxy S5 should and shouldn’t have as well as anything you guys would like us to cover at MWC 2014.
