Xur, Agent of the Nine has been spotted once again at the Tower, and we take a look at his Exotic wares for Week 13 lasting from Dec. 5 – 7.
The Agent of the Nine isn’t selling anything particularly exciting, but he is offering the new Exotic Shards for the first time since Destiny‘s new title update. The shadowy merchant can be found in his usual spawning grounds in the Hangar, right outside the opening of the connecting corridor.
Exotic Shards are now required to fully max out any Exotic item; Ascendant Shards and Energies are now longer required. But before you go rushing in to max out your gear, you’ll want to take a close look at Bungie’s newly released patch notes.
Essentially you can upgrade the base damage and attack of any Exotic item by entrusting said item to Xur and spending an Exotic Shard. But this comes at a steep cost: the progression for said item will be completely reset.
This doesn’t matter if the item is fully maxed or not, and Bungie hasn’t said if fully-maxed items will get bigger upgrade boosts or not.
Anyway, Xur’s new wares aren’t exactly new. We’ve all seen these items before in some rotation or another, but thankfully Guardians have another chance to pick up the ultra-powerful Plan C fusion rifle, which I highly recommend doing so.
Sadly there’s no Exotic engram slot any more–this has been replaced with the Exotic Shard, which is actually quite disappointing.

Plan C (Fusion Rifle) – 17 Strange Coins
- Class: Any
- Upgrade Mats: Spirit Blooml
- Min Level: 20
- Type: Fusion Rifle
- Attack: 274/300 (Arc Elemntal)
- Magazine: 5
- Mod 1: Reduced charge time.
- Mod 2: This weapon has extremely low recoil.
- Mod 3: Charge and equip times are very short immediately after weapon swap.
Helm of Inmost Light – 13 Strange Coins
- Class: Titan
- Upgrade Mats: Spirit Bloom
- Min Level: 20
- Type: Helmet
- Defense: 347/402
- Light: +24/30
- Stat: Strength +95/102
- Mod 1: Increases melee attack speed.
- Mod 2: Reduces melee cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Light.
- Mod 3: Provides Death from Above and Headstrong for Fist of Havoc.
Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
- Class: Hunter
- Upgrade Mats: Relic Iron
- Min Level: 20
- Type: Gauntlets
- Defense: 284/329
- Light: +24/30
- Stat: Discipline +88/95
- Mod 1: Increases reload speed of all Special Weapons.
- Mod 2: Increases the amount of Super energy when you kill an enemy with a grenade.
- Mod 3: Tripmine grenades last longer when placed.
Light Beyond Nemesis (Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
- Class: Warlock
- Upgrade Mats: Helium Filaments
- Min Level: 20
- Type: Helmet
- Defense: 347/402

- Mod 1: Increases reload speed of all Special Weapons.
- Mod 2: Increases the amount of Super energy when you kill an enemy with a grenade.

Exotic Shard – 7 Strange Coins
Remember that these items will only be available until Dec. 7, so pick up your wares while you can. Xur’s items have gone down in price, so it shouldn’t be so hard to snag some Strange Coins from Nightfall, Weekly Heroics, and in the Tiger Strike Playlist and random blue engrams.
