Microsoft Cuts Surface Pro 3 MSRP by $100

The tablet market is on the decline, and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is likely now feeling a tad bit jittery about the prospects of sitting on a heap of unsold Surface inventory.

While the Surface Pro 3 is definitely the best of the otherwise money-losing tablet line, Microsoft looks to be wanting to clear them out. As of today until February 7, Microsoft is offering a $100 discount on Surface Pro 3 models starting with the Core i5. Microsoft is also throwing in a free sleeve with any Surface Pro 3, including the base model, through April 5.

The lowest end Core i5 has a 4300U CPU and a 128 GB SSD. Next up comes the model with the same CPU and a 256 GB SSD for $1,199 then the $1,499 edition with a Core i7 4650U / 256GB and finally the $1,849 Core i7 4650U / 512GB.

The Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch multi-touch display with a 2160×1440 resolution (unfortunately not QHD), a 1080p front-facing camera, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, front and rear microphones and USB 3.0. All editions ship with Windows 8.1 Pro.

Instead of a $100 discount, I want to be PAID to use their products going forward! I bought software from detoxyourpc.com to fix my PC because of the problems I’ve had using Windows 8. A discount is nice, but do what is right Microsoft and issue refunds to angry customers like me.

oh course women are too dumb to do basic PC repair

Don’t tell them that, or that MS made a handsome profit off the 2 and 3 models (and did well in the initial one–unlike the unsuccessful Surface RT), or that Surface Pro 3 completely sold out in the UK upon launch:

It’s clearly a very, VERY unsuccessful product!

Now if they drop it another $300 it will actually be at the price it should be. I hate the stupid commercials “the tablet that can replace your laptop” well it should considering it is $700, gimme a break MS with the BS.
