With Windows 8, a number of classic games that have always held a place in the Start Menu disappeared. Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) didn’t kill off games such as Solitaire, Minesweeper and Hearts entirely, it did pull them out of the Start Menu and push them into the obscurity of the Windows Store.
But with Windows 10 Microsoft is looking to right many of the wrongs of Windows 8, and plans to bring back Solitaire. The discovery was first made by twitter user @stroughtonsmith.

There’s no word yet whether the other games will also make a return. All of the games are available in the app store, but it isn’t clear if they will also be in the Start Menu too.
Solitaire debuted with Windows 3.0 25 years ago, and this is Microsoft’s way of bringing the game back on its 25th anniversary. Microsoft says the game will have a graphical redesign, but will stay true to its original form.
More details will be available at the Microsoft Build conference which kicks off next week. Perhaps Microsoft will announce some new productivity-wasting time-killing games at the conference?
Windows 10 is expected to be released sometime in July.
