The ASUS ROG GX700 is a beast posing as a laptop. It caters to the high-performance oriented gaming crowd more than it does to anyone else. It’s not an ultra portable machine, but it never intends to be one either. The GX700 displays a novelty in laptops; water cooling. While its portability is an issue compared to ultrabooks and similar machines available today, the sheer power of this particular laptop makes it irrelevant in most situations.
The ASUS ROG GX700 water-cooled gaming laptop features an Intel Core i7-6820HK Skylake processor, an nVidia GeForce GTX 980 GPU with 8GB of GDDR5 memory and plenty of power and performance included. The CPU is highly overclockable, as it features an unlocked mobile processor, a potent part with four physical cores clocked at 2.7GHz to 3.6GHz, Hyper Threading support, and 8MB of cache. Hence the water cooling included. While some may confuse this GPU with the GTX 980M, the GTX980 is a desktop GPU which is cherry picked for laptop use, making this a rather powerful machine alltogether.
If you want, the available memory can be bumped up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM for your gaming pleasure and you can also include up to 1TB of solid state drive storage. The USB 3.0 support comes as standard, it offers HDMI and DisplayPort output, a 17.3 inches sized Full HD 108’p panel with G-Sync support or, if you need a better display you can order a 4K resolution model as well. Windows 10 comes as standard, giving you the full access to the newest operating system available and all its kinks right away. Pricing is yet to be revealed.
