Be that as it may, when thinking of 3D PC technology one can’t help but think of NVIDIA. Whether you’re an NVIDIA fanboi or hater, you have to admit that NVIDIA was truly one of the pioneers in terms of bringing 3D technology to the PC market. Introduction to Living with 3D

image_1697_7083

The term 3D is getting tossed around quite a bit these days and a new product touting 3D capabilities pops up practically every other day. If you believe the hype, then 3D is the epitome of next generation technology and an unbelievable immersive form of entertainment. The pessimists out there feel that 3D is nothing more than a blurry, nausea-inducing eye-sore merely being promoted to stimulate TV/display sales that are stagnating due to an arguable discernible resolution cap. As with most things the truth tends to lie somewhere in the middle. One thing is certain; 3D has to be seen first-person in order to truly

image_1642_7028

Lately, fruity companies as well as semiconductor analysts all talked about the "Post PC" era and yet once more banged the "PC is Dead" drum. For a market growing at least 17-19% a year, this is just typical "load of" we have to hear about. Sapphire Edge HD – Mini PC based on Intel Atom N510 CPU and nVidia ION 2 GPU However, there is just one truth out there – technology improves and gadgets get smaller. The one area that this axiom has passed over for the most part is the desktop PC. Performance has consistently improved, however the overall size of desktops has

What the Heck is AMD doing?

image_1639_7025

It’s a valid argument that 3D has become the new HD. Everyone is racing their 3D monitors and TV’s to the market while studios are pumping out 3D movies left and right. On the PC side of things NVIDIA is the 3D juggernaut thanks to their 3D Vision technology, having enjoyed a lonely reign at the top of the heap all but unchallenged. AMD plans to change that with their ecosystem – HD3D. Newcomer: Glasses for viewing content using AMD’s HD3D technology The company subtly launched their own flavor of 3D enablement under the HD3D moniker in the last quarter of 2010. The launch was

Glass-less 3D TV From Team ACX Hitting US Shores Soon

In a recent press release a company named Team ACX announced that it has chosen a nationwide distributor for the Vibrante 3DX-24, their auto-multiscopic (i.e. no glasses needed) display 3D HDTV. You may not have heard much about Team ACX before, but that will change if their 3D HDTV performs as well as they claim. The selection of a distributor might not be the most interesting news in the world, but it does signify that glass-less 3D is one step closer to fruition. Glass-less 3D is not a new concept and other companies have demonstrated working prototypes before, albeit to a less than warm reception.
