EA lets cats out of the bag: Announces 35 games for FY 2011

EA games recently released their fiscal report for their fiscal third quarter of 2010. With numbers like $1.26 billion in revenue, down from $1.65 billion in the previous year, it sounds like EA is still doing ok. The company lost almost as much money as AMD in the past couple of years, and this forced the closure of some studios and more importantly, re-focusing on producing higher-quality titles. At least, that’s what the management is now saying and games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect and signing up teams such as Epic Games. The important information released, at least to gamers, is all about EA?s planned

I have spent about 2 weeks in the open beta that you get into for pre-ordering the game. The group responsible for developing STO is Cryptic Studios, which recently released Champions Online [Metacritic score: 72] which is being published

Is the bubble bursting for games with special controllers?

Back in 2005 Guitar Hero hit the PlayStation 2 with vengeance. A goofy plastic controller and a great soundtrack helped propel Guitar Hero to over $45,000,000 in sales during 2005. This almost unexpected success was the beginning of a multi-billion dollar franchise. The sequel, Guitar Hero 2, saw $200 million revenue in 2006 alone. This was additionally supported with over 650,000 music pack downloads, which was enough for them to reach Gold Record status [500,000 records sold qualifies as Gold according to RIAA] on their own. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock more than tripled the revenue with 750 million dollar sales revenue in the
