HiScene, a Chinese provider of AR products and services is demoing it’s recently-launched HiAR augmented reality glasses at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The product, which is intended for fields including aerospace, power, automotive manufacturing and education, previously won an Innovation Award at CES Asia and the Red Dot Design Award 2017. Notably, the company says their product is the first mass-produced binocular AR smart glasses in China. According to HiScene, the glasses improve brightness and heat dissipation compared to earlier models, while also featuring a minimalist user interface that is particularly well-suited to augmented reality. Of further interest is that the glasses integrate
Tesla CEO Elon Musk was on display past weekend handing over the car keys to company’s long-awaited Model 3. At minimum, you will see 30 mid-priced electrical sedans on the roads in North America. With over 500,000 pre-orders, Tesla Model 3 is one of the most anticipated vehicles the auto industry have seen to date. Priced at $35,000-55,000, this is a drastic reduction compared to Musk’s Model S and X, which are often more than double the cost. “We finally have a great, affordable, electric car – that’s what this day means,” Musk said. “I’m really confident this will be the best car in this
In the late afternoon California time, or early morning Singapore time, Elon Musk, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Tesla Motors, Inc. posted what is his second Master Plan for Tesla. On August 2nd, 2006 Elon posted the first Tesla Master Plan, one we can say the company pretty much checked all the marks. Just a few days before the 10 anniversary, we’re treated to another plan. In this article, we’ll bring you the most interesting bits: Tesla is Becoming an Utility Company “Create a smoothly integrated and beautiful solar-roof-with-battery product that just works, empowering the individual as their own utility, and then scale that throughout the world.
Global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) – the largest source of man-made greenhouse gas emissions – stayed flat for the second year in a row, according to analysis of preliminary data for 2015 released today by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The IEA report is great news for the planet, giving us hope that economic growth is possible without damage to our natural habitat. It however, showcases how well can we adapt if we put our money, effort and trust into new technologies/systems overall. “The new figures confirm last year’s surprising but welcome news: we now have seen two straight years of greenhouse gas emissions decoupling from economic growth,”
If you live anywhere in the northern hemisphere, you’re likely already aware of how bitterly cold temperatures can dip to. In the United States or Canada alone, good luck if you’re living in Alaska, North Dakota, or Minnesota, as temperatures can reach well below -1 degrees Fahrenheit. Same story with Iceland, or Scandinavia. However, you’re going to need more than luck if you’re an EV (electric vehicle) owner in a cold climate, as it appears that electric car batteries may well struggle in winter – taking more time and energy to warm up and function efficiently. Sadly, global warming pushed winter patterns from November/December to January-March,
People often complain about the high costs of energy and the fact that they “never have time to workout.” This invention certainly solves both conundrums. And, most importantly, this free power invention has the potential to lift the 1.3 billion people who presently live without electricity out of poverty. As Manoj Bhargava, the founder of the Free Electric hybrid bike, shares in the video below, it is possible to generate electricity at home while simply doing a daily workout routine. When an individual pedals the bike, the action drives a flywheel, which turns a generator and charges a battery. This means from just one hour of pedaling, a
