China’s Didi Chuxing, the country’s ride-hailing giant , said today that it has raised $4 billion in new capital to proceed with their international expansion. In that way, they are posing a direct challenge to its U.S. rival Uber in its efforts to branch out overseas. Just eight months ago, the company raised $5.5 billion, and in 2016 they raised raised $7.3 billion from big companies including Apple. The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday – citing individuals closely familiar with the project – that the upcoming Apple Car won’t have a self driving mode available. Even though the autonomous vehicle/model is still in the company’s long term plans, the first version of the automobile will have to have a human behind the wheel. According to the same report, Apple now employs around 600 people on this project. Trusting the same sources, it is believed that the Apple bosses gave the go ahead to triple that amount. It only features a Model X Signature Edition for now, allowing you to fully spec out the Model X Signature starting from $132,000 and going way, way up to as much as $143,750.
