Google Announced WorldSense, Stand Alone VR Headset

At its annual developer conference called I/O, Google announced standalone VR headsets for the Daydream VR platform, the first of which will be made by HTC and Lenovo. Supporting these new devices is WorldSense, an inside out positional tracking system which supposedly “dramatically improves tracking” when compared to previous Daydream devices. WorldSense is a product name for a positional tracking system that operates on an ‘inside-out’ principle; it doesn’t need any external sensors or beacons to track the movement of your head through 3D space. Did Google Leak the Nexus 9 During Google I/O?

After yesterday’s unbelievably long Google I/O opening keynote, Google published a lot of supporting documents. Some of those documents include the Android L Release’s own Material design and the supporting documentation. If you go through that documentation, you will notice that they have renders of familiar Google hardware. That includes the Google Chromebook Pixel and the Google Nexus 5. However, there is also an interesting device that appears to be an Android tablet sitting between them. This year’s Google IO opening keynote was by far one of the longest keynotes I have ever watched by a single company, let alone a single presenter (2 1/2 hours long). This year’s announcement was squarely focused on the Android operating system and barely on any hardware at all. Google Rolls Out Android 4.4.4 Update Right before Google IO

Many people have been awaiting Google’s Android 4.4.4 update which many expected would get rolled out at Google IO. They weren’t necessarily wrong since Google IO starts on Wednesday and there will probably be a lot of Android news in terms of new versions of the OS and improvements coming to it.
