PS4 Tops Sales Charts for Seventh Consecutive Month

July has proven to be lucky number seven for Sony, as the PlayStation 4 continues its lead over the Xbox One for the seventh month a row, analyst firm NPD Group reports. Earlier this week the Japanese gaming titan revealed that the PS4 has sold over 10 million units worldwide, and it continues to reign over the Xbox One despite Microsoft’s recent Kinect-less price cut. The figures revealed that U.S. shoppers spent $514.3 million on combined gaming hardware, software and accessories in July with around 38%, or $198.8 million, of that total making up console sales. Sony’s victory was actually two-fold across both hardware and software fronts, with The Last of

Sony Passes Nintendo and Microsoft to Take #1 Spot

Sony Playstation 4

According to sales numbers compiled for 2013, Sony has overtaken Nintendo to be the #1 game console seller in the world, combining both mobile and stationary consoles. Considering the PlayStation 4’s wild success this comes as little surprise. According to Nikkei’s numbers, Sony beat Nintendo out by selling 18.7 million units of their consoles, which include the PS4, PS Vita and PS3 globally in fiscal 2013. That’s even with a huge 20% decline in PS Vita sales primarily due to the staleness of the platform and mobile gaming taking more market share. This is in contrast to Nintendo’s 16.3 million, which can almost entirely be attributed

Xi3 Announces They Build NUCs, Too

Xi3 NUC LEON

In a bizarre twist of the company’s product strategy, they have decided to go with Intel and start to sell customized NUCs. That’s right, you can now buy a fully customized NUC (they add the SSD, RAM and OS) from Xi3 Corporation and they’ll send it to you. Don’t mind the fact that almost ANYONE can build a NUC PC by simply following the instructions and essentially requires 10 minutes to build. Or don’t mind the fact that Xi3 has been building NUC competitors for years and wasn’t really getting much traction, so I guess if you can’t beat ’em join ’em? Xi3 was originally

PlayStation 4 Sales Surpass 7 Million

Sony Playstation 4

Sony’s popular PlayStation 4 console appears to be continuing its amazing momentum in terms of sales as Sony, the console’s maker, has announced that as of yesterday the company has shipped over 7 million units of the popular console. Since the console’s launch in mid november, only 5 months ago, they have managed to average over 1 million console sales per month. This does take into account the 1 million sold on the first day, but even if you take that number out, it puts the PS4 at 6 million units in 5 months, which still means over a million PlayStation 4 consoles sold per
