Twitter Now Supports GIFs, Facebook Still Struggling to Do So

While this may not be a big deal to some, avid and constant users of Twitter can rejoice today because the platform finally supports GIFs. Google’s own Google+ social network was actually the first of the big three to support GIFs and Facebook’s own Facebook chat that is built into the Facebook desktop client also supports GIFs. However, Facebook has not brought GIF support to any other platform or any other part of Facebook, including the most important part, the Timeline. FCC Chats Net Neutrality with the Public on Twitter

The FCC recently decided that they would have a Twitter chat with the public via Twitter using the hashtag #FCCNetNeutrality. Using this hashtag, for an hour, Gigi Sohn the FCC’s Special Counsel for External Affairs would answer questions for the FCC’s Office of the Chairman. Which would essentially mean that she is representing the Chairman, Tom Wheeler, even though he didn’t participate directly in the chat itself. So many people started asking questions and tweeting and retweeting the #FCCNetNeutrality hashtag that it became the number one trending topic on Twitter at that time. As many of you may have heard over the course of the past month, Twitter was banned in Turkey. The reason for this ban was because a few anonymous Twitter accounts had been leaking audio recordings of top Turkish officials talking about corruption and other sensitive issues. Blog hits 150K mark, BSN* passes 10K mark & issues update

Looking at the blog today, I felt warm at heart: since its launch on October 15th, 2008, this blog clocked 150,000 unique visitors and got as high as 369,267 rank on Alexa and 321,068 on Quantcast.
