Now is your chance for fame, or at least exposure for your latest invention. The popular CES venue, Last Gadget Standing, will be celebrating its 10th year and you can share in the celebration if you act soon. Contestants "must be present to win", but the public can cast votes on line as well as in person at CES 2011?s January festivities in Las Vegas.
Readers and official judges can discuss and debate the qualities of the submitted products weeks before the onsite event. Thereafter, the judges will narrow the field down to 10 finalists. If you have a Non Disclosure Agreement issue, you can still be included ? under the cloak of secrecy until the show. The on-stage presentations take on a game show format which everyone enjoys.
Anything goes if it?s a consumer electronics product. Previous winners have been as diverse as the iRobot Roomba ? a vacuum cleaner; the Data Drive Thru Tornado ? a data transfer cable between two PC?s; HP?s TouchSmart PC; and GM OnStar ? the, now well-known, in-vehicle safety, security, and communication service. Even if you don?t win, contestants are included in CES media coverage.
To be in the game, you must be an exhibitor at CES in your own booth or that of a partner. Plan ahead and be prepared to ship your product by March 1, 2011. You must nominate your product in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Don?t forget to include the company and contact name; a product summary with name, model, price, and when consumers can get their hands on it. You must be prepared to expose your gadget to the scrutiny of on-line Last Gadget Standing voters as of December 1. NDA?s may qualify you for a waiver, however. Send along a photo for the CES website of your pride and joy, and of the speaker who?ll do the demonstration if you?re selected as a finalist.
The Last Gadget Standing SuperSession will be January 8, 2011, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the LVCC [Las Vegas Convention Center] North Hall. In the meantime, BSN* will be looking forward to your ideas.
