Online retailer Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) will be slashing prices on Sony’s (NYSE: SNE) new PlayStation TV peripheral by 50% of the list price starting tomorrow at 9am PST (12pm EST).
A sharp-eyed NeoGAF user reported their findings, and sure enough the peripheral can be found under Amazon’s “upcoming Lightning Deals” section.
The price of PlayStation TV’s are currently listed as $79 on the site, so we could see them discounted as low as $39.50, making it quite a steal. If you’ve been holding out on the device because of it’s price tag, then this is the perfect time to buy.
PlayStation TV’s are nifty little boxes that can stream PS4 games via Remote Play, but one of the big selling points is that they can play PS Vita titles via the PlayStation Network. So effectively you get a PS Vita set-top box for $40 that can play amazing handheld exclusives like Persona 4 Golden. Seems fair, right?
If that wasn’t enough, PS TV’s also support a wide range of original PlayStation One classics like just about every original Final Fantasy game and so, so much more.
Amazon hasn’t reported how many units are available, so be sure to jump into your account and be ready when the sale begins. These things are probably going to go like the proverbial hotcakes.
