If you would ask anyone how old is Photoshop, there is a big chance nobody could answer that with a correct answer. While many of us use this impressive tool on a daily basis, the idea that its 25 years old is both amazing and scary at the same time. While nostalgia does kick in quite fast, this means that the much famed photo editing tool is older than some of the world’s most important inventions, all of which paved the way for utilization of such tools on a wide scale as well.
Photoshop was created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, it has become the de facto industry standard in raster graphics editing, such that the terms “photoshopping” and “photoshop contest” were born. You cannot imagine any self wort news website, photographer, web designer or any other digitally sound professional not utilizing this tool. It’s simply a must have software, where many of us cannot begin to think how would our professional lives look without it.
Adobe has released a “25 Years of Photoshop – Dream On” showcase, using one rather dear song to many, all in order to pay homage to one of the greatest and most loved computer tools out there. Take a few minutes of your time and see this video showing us the magnificent ways in which Photoshop can be used, all followed by song that’s dear to most of us. And remember, it was 19th of February 1990 that this tool was released. It does make you feel old, doesn’t it?
