Well, according to research from Deloitte, VR is now a “billion dollar niche“. Reviewing the state of the market and making predictions on its potential progress back in 2016, the accounting and professional services firm calculated that hardware sales of $700 million would be bolstered by $300 million in content sales. As impressive as this and similar assessments have been, VR isn’t quite the full package. As is often the case, Apple users have been forced to watch from the outside in recent months.
Ever since Microsoft came out with the Windows 10, Redmond has been positioning this Operating System (OS) as the final direct release, with all the future versions being built off this foundation. Microsoft is trying to capture back market share which PCs have lost to mobile computing. Microsoft is ending its ‘free Windows 10’ upgrade program. Ever since the company announced the availability of Windows 10 and a free upgrade for the older versions, the company was adamant it will only offer free upgrade program ‘for a limited amount of time’. That free upgrade program ends on July 29th, 2016. After their launch event, Apple finally revealed availability and pricing for the all-new Apple iPhone 6S. While the device itself doesn’t bring a lot of new stuff, it clearly has a tight grip set on the mobile market.
