As widely expected Google announced the Pixel and Pixel XL, its first purely self-branded smartphones. They represent an attempt to put all of the power of its services in one sleek package, carrying nothing but Pixel branding on them. While perhaps not remarkable by themselves, the phones are part of Google’s big push into consumer hardware today which also includes Google Home, Google Wi-Fi, Daydream View, and more. Pixel phones (should we call them Pixels? Ed.) come with five main points for these phones: Google Assistant, Photography, Google Photos, Communications, and Virtual Reality. They have assistant built in, hardware optimizations for a great camera experience (DXOMark record broken!), they back up your photos

Microsoft Windows 10 Holographic Edition to Run on 2017 PCs
Following the troublesome release of Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, which “bricked” tens of millions of webcams around the world, Microsoft is turning its attention to “Windows 10 Holographic Edition”. Unlike the HoloLens stand-alone computer, Holographic Edition will run on PCs, targeting discrete VR HMDs such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and a numerous upcoming headsets based on OSVR and Intel’s own Project Alloy. However, we would not advise you to expect rosy marketing statements to come true, promising Windows 10 Holographic Edition to run: “on an inexpensive and tiny Intel NUC at 90 fps.” Because that ‘tiny and inexpensive’ NUC is a 600 dollar Skylake-S based NUC6i7KYK, and secondly –

Tim Sweeney Rightfully Attacks Microsoft over Windows Store
‘Poor’ Microsoft. The company simply doesn’t know how to do a right move without offending, or simply infringing the rights of its consumers. First Microsoft shoveled Windows 10 Upgrade down everyone’s throats (Windows 7, 8, 8.1 all push Windows 10 upgrade as almost-mandatory), and then started doing potentially anti-trust acts. Windows 10 Store lacks any serious AAA titles – be that gaming or an applications, and it is not getting better with titles that are being released now. The list of AAA gaming titles that experienced severe user-friendly failure test over the past couple of weeks is astounding: Gears of War 10th Anniversary – performance on AMD is

Instagram Announces Account Switching Feature
There’s no doubt that Instagram is one of most popular social networks. More importantly, it is considered to be one of key marketing platforms out there. The amount of marketing / community management / social media marketing jobs that lists ‘handling Instagram profiles’ is all but mandatory for 2015/2016. Yet, the application didn’t change since its inception (and acqusition by Facebook); one application install equals one Instagram account. Instagram always defended this policy as their way to deal with the ‘gray area of the Internet’ such as double accounts, advertisements, information collection etc. In turn, this enabled rise of software such as ListaPost and Schedugram. Both apps eased the life
