We received news that Andrew Steven ‘Andy’ Grove, (born András István Gróf), co-founder, CEO and Chairman of Intel passed away at the age of 79. Alongside Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, he was the foundation of Intel Corporation in 1968. Grove survived World War II under a false name in order to escape Nazi prosecution. A holocaust survivor, ‘Andris’ didn’t fit in pressing communist regime that encapsulated Hungary into the East Block. During the bloody Hungarian revolution in 1956, Andris managed to cross the Austrian border, reaching the United States in 1957.
