Some users are reporting that their Android devices that have been updated to Android 5.0 lollipop are seemingly sluggish or slow after getting the update
Nvidia Teases Lollipop Update For Its SHIELD Tablet

Microsoft Skips Windows 9, Introduces Windows 10
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) appears to have decided to entirely skip the idea of Windows 9 and release their next version of Windows as Windows 10. The company’s new strategy does in fact do what the company has been aiming to do for quite some time. It helps unify the marketplaces and apps while still giving people customizeable experiences depending on the platform that they’re using. So now users can use the same app on their phone, tablet, and PC while also being able to (hopefully) share data across those devices through the cloud. They are also bringing back the start menu and getting rid of the full-page
Raspberry Pi Launches New Model B+
The Raspberry Pi Foundation today announced the final revision of the original Raspberry Pi development board. The Raspberry Pi development board since its introduction has actually sold over 3 million units globally, indicating the undoubtable success of the hardware platform. One of the major reasons why Raspberry Pi has been so successful is because of the relative inexpensiveness of the hardware itself and what it enables. At $35 a board, the Raspberry Pi allows for a fairly decent level of computing and graphics without needing to worry about the costs of building a full hardware platform or an operational PC. This is all powered by
CS:GO Major Update Adds "Wall Banging" Bullet Physics
The update that Valve released to Counter Strike: Global Offensive yesterday was a huge one to the community as it solved many problems that users were experiencing with bullet penetration, also known as Wall Banging. The problem with the previous implementation of bullet penetration in Counter Strike: Global Offensive was partially that it wasn’t very scientific and partially that it made very little sense. You could should through a thin metal grate and basically do no damage to someone, or shoot through a fairly thick metal vent and do an amazing amount of damage. In fact, you could do more damage to someone through the
Google Rolls Out Android 4.4.4 Update Right before Google IO
Many people have been awaiting Google’s Android 4.4.4 update which many expected would get rolled out at Google IO. They weren’t necessarily wrong since Google IO starts on Wednesday and there will probably be a lot of Android news in terms of new versions of the OS and improvements coming to it. However, many expected the Android Kit Kat 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 update to be fairly minor compared to other Android updates, and they were also correct to think so as the entire update was only 2.5 MB to download, as opposed to an entirely new OS image. Over the course of the past few days,
OnePlus One Gets Delayed Due to an OpenSSL Security Update
The much awaited OnePlus One smartphone has hit yet another snag on its way to being delivered to those that could actually get ahold of one. The $299 smartphone has it all, and for a reasonable price, but the catch is that they’re limiting production so that they don’t bankrupt themselves, or their parent company OPPO in the process. And since the device is running CyanogenMod as the OS, there are some things that need to be ironed out before the device ships to consumers as a ‘shipping’ final device. One of those things is that CyanogenMod recently had a major security update as a
Spotify Data Breach, Only One User Affected
Spotify has stated publicly that they had an internal data breach that resulted in some unauthorized access of their systems and internal company data and that only one user was affected. According to Spotify, this issue only affects Android users and as a result, they are asking Android users to update their Spotify Android clients whenever prompted by the Google Play Store. Spotify has made it clear that no users’ data was compromised outside of the single individual and that no login or bank account data was compromised during the breach of Spotify’s systems. However, they did make it clear that they highly recommend that all
Google Updates KitKat Camera App
Earlier this week, Google quietly updated the stock camera app in Android KitKat 4.4 compatible devices, steadily rolling out this update to more phone models through the coming weeks. The Camera app feels streamlined overall, with noticeable changes in camera performance, features, and especially UI. This of course stems from Google receiving sub-par feedback for image quality on their “flagship” Nexus devices, and since mid-2013 it’s become their main mission for mobile. LG already packed a decent camera on the Nexus 5, but in its first weeks of release, the final image compression really caused sour response from Android enthusiasts. Snapping shots on other apps like
Toshiba's P55t 4K Laptop is Awesome, Too Much for Current Apps
As someone that has spent the good part of the last 2 years with ultra-high resolution displays ranging from 13.3″ up to 36″ I can tell you that as an operating system, Windows is simply not ready for 4K. On a 31.5″ monitor you can still appreciate the pixels and not feel like you have to squint to see things. The truth is that when I’m using Adobe Photoshop CC on this Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (3200 x 1800 resolution) it is incredibly clear that the software is not ready for high resolution displays and that the operating system and the ISV are both to
Windows Phone 8.1 Update Preview Live Today
For those of you that missed Microsoft’s announcement of the Windows Phone 8.1 update, they said that the update would be rolling out over the course of the next few months across the world. However, the developer preview (basically accessible to anyone that’s interested) is available today. That includes a whole host of small improvements across the OS as well as the addition of Cortana. Windows Phone Central actually has a quick guide of what you actually need to do in order to get your hands on Windows Phone 8.1. The one important thing to note, however, is that only users with Windows Phone 8
Microsoft's New Strategy – Clean Up Windows, Become Strong 3rd Competitor
If you haven’t been following Microsoft lately, then you’re missing out on what could be one of the most significant changes of strategy I’ve seen in a long time. They have slowly been making baby steps towards reorganizing and reconsidering how they address mobile. I have been following Microsoft’s attitudes towards mobile since Windows Mobile 5.0 and even owned a fair amount of Windows-based devices over the course of that time. However, Microsoft made a lot of mistakes along the way and is finally making major changes to remedy them. And with the smartphone market being a virtual duopoly between Android and iOS it comes
