Swiss Watch Sales In Trouble Due To Smart Watches

According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, there is a big shift happening on the watch market. Global global smartwatch shipments reached 8.1 million units in Q4 2015, compared with 7.9 million Swiss Watch shipments. This is the first time ever that smartwatch sales have outperformed Swiss watches on a global scale, giving us a great showcase of times to come. Cliff Raskind, Director at Strategy Analytics, said, “We estimate global smartwatch shipments reached 8.1 million units in Q4 2015, rising a healthy 316 percent from 1.9 million in Q4 2014. 2016 According to Apple: What Lies Ahead?

In addition to a significant focus on updating and refreshing their existing products, last year also saw Apple launch some long-anticipated new releases, namely the iPad Pro for ‘prosumer tablets’, Watch for the wearable industry and the carrier unlocked (so-called SIM-free) iPhone 6S, where you can use any carrier you want. Whilst many might reflect on 2015 as a year of upgrades, hardware and add-ons for the tech giant, 2016 looks set to hold plenty of promise in terms of completely new products and branching out into unexplored fields. The New Apple: iPhone 6 and Watch

Apple Watch

There is no denying that Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) is a different company from the days when Steve Jobs walked the halls of the company’s Cupertino headquarters. Apple is now run by Tim Cook, Steve’s operations guru that managed to enable Apple’s ruthless efficiency and even more importantly their absolute profit margins. It comes as little surprise that Apple comes off as feeling dull to many since Jobs’ death in four years ago in 2011. Sure, four years is a long time in the tech world, but when it comes to a company like Apple, it takes time for someone’s impact to wane, like Jobs’. Let’s not forget that

Qualcomm Toq Gets Nuance Voice Recognition

Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch

As the world of smartwatches continues to move forward, Qualcomm’s ‘reference’ design smartwatch appears to be getting better and better, adding major new features well after the device’s initial release in September and since our initial review. Back in February, Qualcomm added activity tracking functionality, which is something that they had promised when the watch was originally announced. Since then, they’ve added some new watch faces and done some regular maintenance on the watch and the associated app and we’ve been using it all along the time since the Toq has such great battery life. Well, yesterday, we got wind of a new update and
